FAQs.

  • Our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training spans 4 months, meeting for 8 weekends from December 2024 to April 2025. Sessions include yoga practice, study, excursions, and learning diverse lineages from various guest instructors.

  • This training is ideal for anyone looking to deepen their connection to yoga, community, and self. It covers yoga philosophy, history, asana, meditation, spirituality, anatomy, and personal development.

  • Some yoga experience is recommended, but the training is foundational. We welcome all levels as long as you are passionate about self-improvement and learning.

  • Many take the training for personal growth and community experience. You'll gain a deeper connection to yourself and a comprehensive understanding of yoga, even if you don't plan to teach.

  • To graduate and register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200, you need 200 hours. You can miss one weekend (16.5 hours) but must make up additional hours if you miss more than 21 hours. Missing over 33 hours means ineligibility for graduation.

  • Our schedule will vary weekend-to-weekend, but may look something like this:

    Fridays

    • 6:30pm-9pm Group activity/lecture/introduction to weekend theme.

    Saturdays

    • 9am-11am Asana practice

    • 11:00am-1:00pm Asana lab---small group breakdown and modifications of postures

    • 1:00pm-2:00pm Lunch break and independent study

    • 2:00pm-4:00pm Lecture, reading and discussion, studying

    • 4:00pm-6:30pm Practicum (learn to teach, practice teaching and leading) or other group work

    • 1:30pm-2:30pm Lecture, reading and discussion, studying

    • 2:30-4:30pm Guest instructor workshop

    • 3:30-6:00pm Group consolidation/assimilation/weekend review.

    • Occasional Half or full day excursions.

  • Students who are not eligible to graduate from training due to missed hours, relocation, breach of our code of conduct, failing exams and/or make-up exams, or other life circumstances will not be eligible for a refund.

Students not eligible to graduate will not be able to become a certified yoga instructor through the Yoga Alliance or through our training. If there is a possibility you will not be present and able to attend all of the training sessions ready to learn then we don’t recommend this training. This training is a one-time event and payment towards it cannot go to another offering at The Nest.

  • Expect about 3 hours of homework between training weekends, plus 17 hours per training weekend, totaling around 200 hours over 4 months.

  • Graduates who complete the 200-hour training and pass exams will receive a certificate and can register as an RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance.

  • Consult your doctor before training. You should be comfortable with physical activity and sitting for long periods. Modify any exercises as needed for your body.
